Mission Statement
We support tobacco free environments and the responsible use of alcohol and seek to reduce illicit drug use in Fremont County.
Vision Statement
The Fremont Counseling Prevention Team strives to empower Fremont County environments to become tobacco free and to reduce alcohol and other drug misuse among community members by promoting community norms that support tobacco free environments, encourage responsible alcohol use and do not condone illicit drug use.
Youth, parents, community members, human service agencies, government agencies, local criminal justice systems, and businesses all have a stake in reducing the negative consequences of tobacco use, secondhand smoke, and drug and alcohol misuse in our communities.
Programs and Services
- Available to all Fremont County residents and communities
- Activities are geared toward helping children and young people make healthy lifestyle choices
- Transportation to and from programs is often available
- Prevention program participants do not need to be clients of FCS
- Most prevention activities are FREE
- Activities/programs offered:
- Youth Activities Prevention Programs (YAPP)
- School Education Programs/Groups
- Community Based Education Programs/Groups
- Parenting Groups
- Youth Leadership Training
- Alternative Activities for kids and teens
- Community Networking
- Community billboards, newspaper articles, and public service announcements
- Community planning and advocacy
Funding for Prevention Services is provided by the Wyoming Department of Health and the US Department of Health and Human Services.
